#TBT – Remember back in the day when you’d go to the doctor & you’d simply listen to what your doctor had to say. You might relay a few complications here and there but many took his/her advice without questioning decisions, medications or next steps. Previously, the a patient’s role in healthcare was seen as very passive; however, a change is coming to the culture of the healthcare industry. It has taken on a more collaborative role in which the doctor and the patient communicate more, share important information and are both full engaged in the process.
